:icondulcedomum-redux:
Name:
 Tiên Emmaline Young
Nickname: She normally goes by Temmi, as a mix of her first and middle names.
Gender: Female
Height: 4'11" | 149.9 cm
Weight: 118 lbs
Actual Age: 25 | Pacted Age: 24
Nationality: African American/Vietnamese American
DOB: May 25th, 2012 (Gemini)
Generation: 5th Generation - Descendent of Robyn Redstone
Human Parent: Bao Young (Non-Magic Human | Alive)
Wizard Parent:
Erin [née Michaels] Young (Earth Redstone Praetor | DoB: October 3rd, 1963 | 4th Generation)

-Pacted Wizard: Erica [née Michaels] Thompson; Twin sister and Fire Wizard

-A young woman born into a family of wizards, Erin found her life to be less magical as her older twin sister, Erica. Though the two were identical down to their voice and walk, the spirits played in part making sure the sisters would never be separated. As they grew visiting the household from time to time, Erin found herself drawn to protect her older sister, as Erica shared the same values. When Eric's birth spirit finally appeared to her, another spirit shortly arrived after--as it felt it needed to wait for the Wizard twins spirit to decide when a pacting time would be ready. The two trained together and pacted together rather quickly, knowing each other of sound mind and inside out that their ages would never differ so they could always remain close. As they grew and traveled the world, Erin met a man by the name of Bao who shared his love of traveling like the sisters, and grew very close with them, specifically the Praetor of the two. Erin also grew very attached with him as well, but internally conflicted if she should dismiss the pact with her sister to be with him or let him grow older. Around the time, Erica also fell in love with someone else so the twins took the two men down for a little talk--and both were understandably floored but somehow okay with it? Eternally hot baes, they didn't mind. While Erin and Bao married, Erica and her "husband" remained as technical boyfriend and girlfriend only to make it fair. They compromised. As of now, Erin travels with Bao, both working as a diplomat and Museum curator, respectively, letting their little girl follow along to where they move (also necessary for safety so they don't leave a trace for the knights), until she was old enough to live on her own. She and Bao write letters to Temmi all the time, even moreso now when the young woman's magic is finally beginning to develop...

SPIRIT INFORMATION

Birth Element: Wind

Limegreen-orb |First Spirit|Limegreen-orb

Name: Sugarmint
Element: Wind
Tattoo Placement: Across collarbones and chest, looks like small paw prints.
First Met Location: Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
A simple small spirit, Sugarmint takes the form of a Japanese Dwarf Flying Squirrel--albeit a very plush and fat one. She followed Temmi along as they both grew, her attention spanning over multiple things as much as her wizard did. Years later, she snuggled upon a bed of raven hair and burrowed her way to the light after a good night's sleep and thus--there she was. The two have been inseperable since her appearance to Temmi and Sugarmint wouldn't have it any other way. She's round, fat, but quick on her feet and always wants a treat to eat! There is an underlying second personality to Sugarmint, however, one that is decedantly yet dangerously too sweet. Case in point: She is not fond of Ace and thinks he's too spaced out to be a praetor.

Bullet; White Spell 1: Song of Soaring (Support)Bullet; White - Intermediate

-Like flying squirrels and sugar gliders, Temmi is able to emulate their flight into air with the winds aiding her at call. As she levels she's able to hold aloft others as well, though this is more taxing on her and using the latter part of this ability requires her to rest at least for an hour each time.

Lvl 1: She is able to support herself for the uplift, flying and gliding for a distance of a good mile before floating back down.

Lvl 2: She is able to support herself and enough winds for another person to travel over the airlift, going nearly as far as 2 miles.

🔒 Lvl 3: She can carry up to four people (including herself, so really 3 people) on winds, gliding forth for 3 miles before settling down for a rest.  As stated above, she needs to rest for an hour with carrying others aloft with her.

:bulletpurple:Spell 2: Song of Storms (Defense)>-Beginner

Her defense spell provides Temmi with a circular air pocket around her to keep herself protected from anyone coming in, upon contact with the winds will send a person floating upside down, left to right and back down again with the symptoms of Vertigo--the sensation of spinning. They'll do the same to long range projectiles, deflecting them away, but are weak against anything firmly planted to the ground, such as Trees or any underground spells. Same weakness applies to heavier opponents, objects, etc.

Lvl 1: The winds aren't very strong, being able to lift and spin grown adult  or a creature just as big, and will just make anyone who comes too close feel like they need to keep swaying in order to walk right. Some may be knocked off balance, some might just be walking funny, dependent on the other's sense of balance.

🔒 Lvl 2: The winds have grown stronger, being able to pick up anyone the size of two grown adults (or close to that size), spinning them around as stated above, and leave them tilting for much longer, swaying, and dizzy.

🔒 Lvl 3: The winds have grown to lift and spin up, around and over anything the size of four grown adults, rendering them with the full effects of Vertigo (Dizziness, nausea, ringing ears, swaying and tilting.)

:bulletorange: Spell 3: Scarecrow's Song (Offense)- Intermediate
With this spell, Temmi emits a piercing scream of aerial shockwaves that is dangerous upon close proximity, harmful to the eardrums and once mastered, can break through certain things with it's high pitch. It's definitely more helpful than an Ambulance's siren when one is further away from her attack range. It's most effective in areas where sound travels through easily (ie: in air, water, wood), but is weakest if her voice is indisposed or if the air has a low sound-traveling rate (ie: Cold Air)

Lvl 1: Temmi can shriek at a high volume where it's sounds will leave those caught in it's wake to be disoriented, moving them back slightly. It's enough to ripple through water but not dangerous enough for anything else to occur. If anything just a slight migraine-level headache.

Lvl 2: Can cause ears to bleed, glass can shatter at this volume. The closer someone is, the easier they'll be knocked off their feet. The same headache feeling applies but it persists the longer they are exposed to her screams.

🔒 Lvl 3: Glass shatters, solid wood ruptures in two, and prolonged exposure to her screams will render a person unconscious, unless they move away quickly enough, to which they'll have a splitting headache with ringing ears. Same applies to above, the closer someone is, the easier they're knocked off their feet.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Personality:

Positives: Considerate | Jovial | Optimistic | Determined | Creative
Neutral: Quirky | Curious | Hyperactive
Negatives: Flighty | Restless | Impulsive | Naive | Fretful

Very upbeat, Temmi looks on the bright side of things. She views every struggle as another hurdle to jump forward to keep moving on in life. Is that a splinter? Congrats, you’ve learned how to connect with trees! Oh, it’s raining? Well that’s ok, the ground needs water for plants and rain is just a natural part of life! Honestly there’s virtually nothing that can bring this peppy girl down to the ground. It’s rare to see her without her eyes wide and a smile on her face, seemingly in awe of almost everything--be it cat videos, or a new job opportunity--or multiple cat parade videos. She is not without fault as being too optimistic makes her very blind to a lot of more pressing matters when it really counts. Temmi is far from dumb, however, as she is easily attuned to another's feelings or thoughts--but prefers to push the bad-blues away instead. She doesn't react well to negativity and can short circuit over trying to weasel out the positive spin on a situation, which can very well earn her some chagrined enemies or welcome mischief. When things definitely get too much for her, Temmi is also prone to pushing it aside for later to deal with but it bottles up terribly in her mind and it again, will result in a mental or vocal blow-up. She's very friendly overall and doesn't want anyone to feel excluded, left out or feeling lonely as she once did, so she makes a point to say hi to at least everyone she meets.

Likes:
  • Coffee with extra hazelnut creamer, whipped cream and three shakes of cinnamon--really, just coffee with extra cream. She likes it sweet.
  • Making others' day brighter
  • Giving people nicknames~
  • Writing. She writes a lot and retains quite a lot of information.
  • Making up stories in general, even verbatum.
  • Video Games; Specifically Legend of Zelda and Pokemon
  • Ribbons and scrunchies
  • HUGS!<3
  • Braiding people's hair
  • Having long hair--its her pride and joy

Dislikes:
  • Pessimistic thinking. Can't is not in her vocabulary.
  • Failure
  • Sherbert -- It's not ice cream, it's NOT THE SAME.
  • Having no caffeine in her system. It hurts.
  • Sleeping. She might miss something.
  • Losing her contacts.
  • Thunderstorms -- has a case of Brontophobia and will immediately lock up and stutter.
  • Upsetting people
  • Raccoons. She has a very bad time with raccoons.

History:

Born to two lovers of travel, Temmi's beginnings were mostly on the road. The longest she stayed in one place was the first four years of her life, which doesn't leave much of a memory imprint on a young child. Her father was a traveling curator for museums, while her mother worked as a diplomat. Never staying too long in one place, they were always moved around due to their jobs. Temmi's only social interaction with kids her own age only happened whenever they would move ino neighborhoods or cities that had kids. The moves became few and far in between as school became a looming thing. Her traveling all the time with her parents  gave her amazing reference material for stories to share with every new person she met--except there would always be a time where she'd have to leave, possibly never seeing the person again as her parents rarely, if never, returned to stay in a previous location. It gave her more time to work on her own stories and find new interests, more specifically video games and anime. Both things made good conversation starters when she had to make friends "for the month" again.

By the time Temmi was 14 she had attended 7 different schools, three of which she had to move within a month of each other. Her parents settled in the Northeastern States for awhile and Temmi jumped at the chance of going to an Outdoors Camp that following Summer. She made lots of friends, including a young boy name Ace Clark and enjoyed it enough to continue coming back for the next three years, content that it provided the one constant in her life no matter how many more times or where she moved. As she graduated and settled into college, she continued going back to camp to reunite with the friends she made and became Co-Counselors with Ace, never letting go of that warm feeling she always had when she was there. With her friends, with Ace, even with the location of the camp, the outdoors and wind the mountains provided gave her some sort of peace. Like she belonged.

However as all good things come to an end, Temmi had to focus more on her college work as she grew older, eventually leaving the Camp grounds she had fun as a child. It gave her a means to keep in contact with her friends, but it hit close to home very hard as it was the first "home" she felt in a long time. Was it the people or the place? She didn't understand why her parents moved so much as they did when they could easily build memories in one place and have adventures there. But whenever she asked them in the past, they only replied it was for work and wouldn't it be more fun to explore the distance. Temmi rather liked being in college as well with her roommate as she grew, trading one home from camp for the other in college, where at least she could do what she wanted to do that time. Her major would allow her to travel like her parents did, but more at her leisure without the cost of uprooting herself. She filled her free time between semesters visiting her friends that lived out of state to catch up: Collaborating with Preston on their fanfics, doing sports with Beaumont, binging movies with Jenny, and camping with Ace. She seemed to like camping with Ace the most though was unsure on the reason why: was it for the experience or being with her friend or both? She kept telling herself it was for both reasons, but she wasn't too sure exactly how much that was true.

After her final semester and getting her Bachelor's degree, Temmi laid down in the main courtyard to rest, and from her nap, a small little creature crawled out of her hair enjoying the nap too. She revealed herself as Sugarmint, explaining only (in the best way she could) that they were born together and should pact together. As the girl finished her main goal in life, Sugarmint felt that  it was time to reveal herself that with no new distractions, they could embark on their new adventure together. Temmi immediately agreed, not thinking about the consequences later.

At least until that night when she realized that she should probably call her mom.

Shortly after pacting with Sugarmint, Erin explained to her child about the actual consequences to come. And what it would mean for her in the long run, as Erin revealed she was living this life and it was part of the reason why she and Bao moved Temmi around so much. Temmi debated heavily on the new changes in her life that were to come. On the one hand, all the magic in the world and now added time sounded very tempting, especially being able to meet more of her extended family--she loved family! On the other hand, Temmi realized much later that eventually she'd outlive all her friends and during her training, she'd have to be very careful if she wanted to contact them. Out of privacy of Dulcedomum and safety for the entire family. As she was packing for a annual camping trip she already planned out with her good friend, Temmi figured she could worry about the entire details much later, right now she wanted to have fun before getting back to much more serious matters.

Heading to Georgia for their routine meetups, Temmi was over-excited on camping out in the woods with Ace, trying everything and anything to not focus on the responsibilty that would come when they would part ways. She hadn't thought about saying goodbye to him yet (possibly for good), that during the drive, they ran out of things to talk about. She trusted him, she liked him well enough and she knew he could keep a secret.

Her first question about Dulcedomum to Ace was: Do you believe in magic?

THEN EVERYTHING CHANGED WHEN A GIANT BEETLE ATTACKED.

They were expecting bugs on the camping trip, but not beetles the size of their own head swarming at them repeatedly. It flew about trashing their campsite, blocking the path to Ace's car and they at first tried to hide behind the tent...which only stood for about five minutes before the beetle ripped into that too. There was a lot of screaming involved and many marshmallows were sacrificed trying to get the creature to leave. It went for Ace first and when Temmi screamed, her spell began to show and the beetle nearly fell from flying in the sky. It righted itself, focusing it's attention on her and nearly swooped to headbutt her in but Ace intervened to keep it away. They protected each other (well Ace did more fighting as Temmi wouldn't stop screaming) and soon it just grew tired of them and left. Another spirit appeared before Ace, somewhat pleased with their efforts and snubbed Temmi as he decided to pact with her friend. Temmi's optimisim glazed over the fact that a small being called her a peasant as she tackled Ace in a hug. He was magical too! With a weapon like her mom! Much later when they figured it would be better to just camp inside the car (since the tent was broken), Temmi showed her letters to Ace explaining his part about what Praetors could do and that he might be getting a letter of his own soon.

Temmi got hers not too long after their camping trip came to an end and Ace's was there as well. They spent the following months together trying to pack their things and cover up tracks before heading to Dulcedomum's location together. With the power of friendship!

Fun Facts:

  • Voice claim: Adriana Figueroa [Youtube Cover Artist]
  • Very animated gestures while she speaks.
  • Has Hyperopia; She's far-sighted and needs glasses but she wears contacts mostly. The glasses are her backup.
  • Her hair could easily whip someone by accident when in a ponytail.
  • Easily gets mistaken for another child sometimes; She’s amused by this and isn't very bothered at all.
  • Has a high metabolism, any energy she consumes burns off very fast.
  • Endures self-inflicted migraines due to ingesting too much caffeine--it's at the point she needs at least two cups of coffee a day or an equivalent to keep herself relatively fine.
  • She's double-jointed, able to contort easily with no pain. It causes public discomfort when she does this in the company of others (WHY IS YOUR LEG BENT LIKE THAT?) It doesn't hurt, really.
  • Rarely sleeps for more than 3-4 hours.
  • She has Brontophobia, or fear of Thunder. She likes rain but when it starts to thunderstorm she is not a happy camper.
  • Ironically so, she enjoyed going to an outdoors summer camp every year since she was 14--despite the raccoons and occurances with thunderstorms, she LOVED IT.
  • Is an only child, but is very close with the cousins on her mother's side.
  • Her Zelda bag comes with buttons on the front. She's stylized them to the notes of Zelda's Lullaby. #Nerd

Role-Play Example:

The Four Directions bridge blew almost immediately the moment Temmi stepped into the Wind Wing. Her hair flew about wildly as her laughter went across the wind's current, carrying her giggles to the great beyond.

"IT'S SO LOUD!"

"What?!" Sugarmint appeared beside her, snuggled contently in the crevice between the Wizard's neck and shoulder lest she be blown along the wind. "What'd you say?"

"I SAID!" Temmi increased her volume, trying to beat the howling wings with her own voice. It was futile, since the winds had a mind of their own and competed against her, creating a blustery  swirl around wizard and spirit. Sugarmint floated out of Temmi's hair, the little flying squirrel began giggling too as Temmi's laughs were infectious. She swirled around the young woman's head as she manuvered around the winds, finally plopping on top, snuggled between her hair and the ribbon tying the ponytail together. Her green little paws tip-tapped on Temmi's head, asking to repeat her statement. "IT'S SO LOUD!"

By then the winds finally stopped, giving a silent pause as Temmi's words echoed throughout the bridge. Her scream continued to reverberate and Sugarmint crawled to Temmi's bangs to look at her upside down. Temmi gave her a wince in return, a little shy and uneasy but humorous all the same.

"Yeah, yeah I got that." Sugar nodded sagely. "But now it's quiet, so let's move quickly!"

"Got it~!" Temmi sang loudly, her feet picking up quickly to run across the bridge towards the Ventus Regnum.
